David C. Odegard
David is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended the University of New Mexico and graduated summa cum laude in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Political Science.
David attended the UNM School of Law from 2009 to 2012, obtaining his J.D. During that time, David served as the president of the UNM Student Bar Association and was the managing editor of the New Mexico Law Review. David was also a member of the Dean’s Committee on Honor Code & Disciplinary Procedure Review. Upon graduation, David received the Faculty Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the law school community.
David has practiced in the area of civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, and nursing home abuse.
Early in his career, David was acknowledged by Southwest Super Lawyers and selected to their list of Rising Stars for 2016, 2017 and 2018 as a top rated civil litigation attorney. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.
